The epSOS project has developed a basic mechanism for Semantic Services providing human and computer-supported interoperability. Ricerca, il Lazio si allea per attrarre i fondi europei. Dal 2007 al 2013 Bruxelles stanzia 50 miliardi.Migliorare la capacità di attrarre i fondi europei destinati alla ricerca ed essere più competitivi nei bandi, a cominciare dagli oltre 50 miliardi di euro a disposizione del VII programma quadro per gli anni 2007-2013. Per questi motivi gli assessori alla ricerca di Lazio, Toscana, Marche, Umbria e Campania, hanno unito le forze e sottoscritto un accordo di collaborazione. Un’intesa con finalità simili è già stata siglata in passato da alcune Regioni del Nord. L’accordo avvierà un coordinamento più stretto a livello tecnico al fine di fare massa critica per accedere ai finanziamenti.

Dal MIUR fondi UE a distretti tecnologici e laboratori. Al prossimo giro le risorse del Pon “ricerca e competitività” 2007-2013 interesseranno i distretti tecnologici e i laboratori pubblico-privati. Dovrebbero essere queste infatti le destinazioni privilegiate della seconda “fetta” (più o meno 900 milioni di euro) di fondi europei a disposizione del ministero dell’Istruzione della tranche da 1,6 miliardi provenienti dalla Ue. Allo stato attuale un testo del secondo bando ancora non c’è e anche la definizione delle linee guida è ancora all’inizio. Anche perché gli interventi andranno coordinati con le quattro regioni della convergenza (Calabria, Campania, Puglia e Sicilia). Tuttavia se ne dovrebbe sapere qualcosa in più nel giro di un paio di mesi anche perché i fondi andranno assegnati entro la fine del 2010.

EUA’s country workshops about full costing. European University Association (EUA) announces the launch of new series of country workshops, which will be developed as part of the EUIMA – new full costing project. These country workshops could be the possibility to the individual universities, groups of universities, representative organisations of universities and/ or university networks to host the country workshops in their region or country. The aim of the workshops is to raise awareness of all stakeholders about full costing as a crucial tool in the financial management of universities. The workshops will draw on best practice examples and expertise from across Europe shaped to suit the specific needs and conditions in each country. JRC maps support Haiti rescue work. A preliminary damage assessment based on satellite images and published by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) reveals that more than 4,000 buildings were damaged or destroyed in the Haitian earthquake on 12 January.The European Commission is helping to support relief efforts in Haiti in many ways. One important aspect of the EU’s work in the disaster-stricken country is the generation of data and maps, which show that in Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city, and the nearby village of Carrefour, the 7.0 magnitude earthquake caused the collapse of about 2,000 residential buildings, government buildings, educational institutes and hospitals. http://cordis.europa.eu/search/index.cfm?fuseaction=news.document&N_RCN=31675

Le nuove basi geografiche: Milano in 3D su Google Earth.La nuova frontiera del dato geografico per il consumer ora disponibile anche per l’Italia. Su Google Earth Milano è in tre dimensioni. Sono più di 5.000 gli edifici già ricostruiti in 3D utilizzando il software SketchUp. La navigazione è davvero impressionante.

Quarantotto grafi urbani scaricabili e liberamente utilizzabili. Nella sezione “download – grafi stradali” trovate i grafi stradali in formato shape di quarantotto città italiane. Sono di uso libero ed è molto gradito l’eventuale ritorno di file aggiornati da rendere disponibili alla comunità. Sono stati provati uno ad uno per verificare che il formato sia corretto. Dallo scorso 4 dicembre sono aperte le iscrizioni on line (www.italialavoro.it) per i 1.300 tirocini previsti dal programma LaziOntheJob, attivato con una convenzione stipulata tra la Regione Lazio e Italia Lavoro a luglio 2009. Al 12 gennaio sono circa 1.800 le persone che hanno già avanzato la propria candidatura, 30, invece, le imprese che hanno manifestato il proprio interesse ad ospitare tirocinanti. Gartner: il 2010 sarà l’anno del boom per gli application store.I consumatori spenderanno quest’anno 6,2 miliardi di dollari nei vari store di applicazioni per la mobilità. Store e software housetrarranno poi vantaggio da un spesa di 600 milioni di dollari in pubblicità . La stima viene da Gartner nel rapporto Dataquest Insight: Application Stores; The Revenue Opportunity Beyond the Hype che valuta in più di 4,5 miliardi il numero di download. Ma otto su dieci di questi sarà per applicazioni gratuite. Ancora più generose le previsioni per i prossimi anni fino ad arrivare a 21,6 milioni di download nel 2013 con un fatturato previsto di oltre 29 miliardi di dollari.
